REAL LIFE WEDDING – A Blush Pink Summer Wedding
Maxine and Michael’s summer wedding day at Rivervale Barn was simply perfect. With so many gorgeous details and lots of personal touches, it really was the most wonderful occasion from start to finish.
Finding Rivervale Barn
With lots of family living locally, Maxine and Michael knew that they didn’t want to ask anyone to travel far for their big day. Luckily, they found Rivervale Barn.
“I found the venue online after lots of research,” says Maxine. “After watching the short slide show of the beautiful Rivervale Barn, we were completely sold! Michael and I visited a week later and I think we both knew it was ‘the one’ as soon as we stepped inside. The building and the courtyard and gardens are just beautiful and the wonderful staff are the cherry on top!”
A blush pink wedding theme
Maxine spent a lot of time on Instagram and Pinterest in the build-up to the big day looking at ideas for decorations and details. All her hard word most definitely paid off because the barn looked amazing with the prettiest blush pink wedding theme.
“I knew I really wanted lanterns in the Dining Barn and we sourced these via Cherubs Floral Design. As well as the lanterns, we also had round mirror plates in the middle of the tables with square mirror vases and blush pink roses and these were surrounded by candles.”
The couple’s favourite football team, Arsenal, also played a role in the decorations too:
“We’re huge Arsenal fans so the tables were named after Arsenal players. Michael is great at designing things and he created the table names and numbers. They were very tasteful and not at all how I thought they might turn out!”
To complete the look, the couple also placed big LOVE letters behind the top table whilst the Ceremony Barn was also dressed to fit with the theme. There were ivory ribbons decorating the chairs and lanterns and petals lining the aisle. The blush pink wedding theme was also reflected in the couple's wedding flowers provided by Sunbury on Stems.
A wedding look to remember
The bride and groom looked absolutely fantastic and Maxine’s bridal ensemble was full of sparkle.
“My dress was a strapless satin A-line dress with a jewelled belt running around the waist. I also wore a tiara and veil for the ceremony and in the evening, I swapped the tiara for a bejewelled hair comb. For the evening, I also changed from my Miss KG wedding shoes into flat sandals so I was ready to dance!”
Michael wore a very stylish blue navy three-piece suit with tan shoes and the entire wedding party wore blush pink ties and accessorised with blush pink handkerchiefs. The bridesmaids also fitted with the blush pink wedding look and their chiffon dresses were so pretty.
Starting the day in style
This was a wedding day that was brilliant from start to finish. Maxine arrived early in the morning with her mum and two bridesmaids and they all enjoyed getting ready together in the Pamper Room. Michael arrived a little later with his groomsmen and made a very impressive entrance:
“Michael arrived with his best men in a white vintage Stag, Aston Martin and Porsche. All three cars were parked outside the venue and looked amazing when guests arrived.”
Fabulous food at Rivervale Barn
Maxine and Michael’s guests were treated to lots of carefully chosen food and drink and once again, the team at Galloping Gourmet served up a feast for all:
“After the ceremony, we served canapes with our reception drinks and the canapes were delicious and we had lots of lovely feedback from our guests about them. Our wedding breakfast was a three course sit-down meal which was wonderful and our guests loved the service from the staff.”
“In the evening, we opted for the pizza oven with fresh toppings and this was a huge hit. Our guests loved the theatre of the open oven in the courtyard.”
Moments to remember
As with all weddings, there were some incredibly special moments that really made the day:
“Near the end of the evening, it seemed that everyone was on the dancefloor, all our families and friends. The DJ played ‘Never Forget’ by Take That and we ended up in the middle of the dancefloor with everyone surrounding us. I remember thinking at the time how lucky I was and it still gives me goosebumps now.”
