REAL LIFE WEDDING – A classy affair
After discovering the Rivervale Barn website, Faye and Richard knew they had to book a visit. With its inclusive, open-plan layout, the couple knew it would be the perfect wedding venue barn for their wedding guests.
Despite being the first wedding venue barn they looked at, Faye and Richard were pretty certain that Rivervale Barn was right for them. “I absolutely loved it and knew that no over venue would live up to the Barn,” smiles Faye. The couple were in awe of the Barn’s natural beauty and loved the simple and stunning interior. “It was a blank canvas so I could style my wedding the way I wanted it,” explains Faye. “What’s more, the staff were lovely too – so I knew our guests would be in good hands,” she adds.
The classic touch
The chic style of Rivervale Barn was the perfect match for Faye and Richard’s elegantly styled wedding. With a colour scheme of grey, white, and blush, the pair opted for subtle yet beautiful decorations for a wow-factor finish. “We went for tall table centrepieces consisting of a candelabra decorated with white flowers, sparkly table stationery, blush pink macarons as wedding favours, and silver and white chair covers,” explains Faye. The room was also finished off with a light-up ‘LOVE’ sign – an iconic feature of their evening reception.
Dressed to impress
In keeping with the elegance of the day, Faye opted for an ethereal ball gown with a deep V back and front, tulle skirt, and beaded bodice. “I didn’t actually like it on the hanger, but my mam forced me to try it on – and I loved it!” smiles Faye.
Richard also went all out with a three-piece suit fit for a prince. The fitted suit was teamed with a platinum coloured tie and a pair of high shine Ted Baker shoes.
Faye’s bridesmaids wore shades of silver and grey too, with two maids in frost, two in platinum, and two in charcoal grey. They teamed their Dessy dresses with bulky fashion necklaces and silver glitter accessories. “They looked fab,” smiles Faye.
You and me
Richard and Faye tied the knot at the local church, before heading to Rivervale Barn for their wedding reception. Richard drove the couple to the venue so the two had an opportunity for some time alone. “It was a lovely way to enjoy some time together and take it all in,” says Faye.
One of the highlights of their wedding reception was the food – which was loved by the couple and all their wedding guests alike. “The food was incredible and the service impeccable,” says Faye. “Galloping Gourmet did an outstanding job – a huge credit to all the chefs!” The wedding menu included a smoked bacon Scotch egg starter, fillet of beef main, and a trio of desserts for pudding. “We had triple chocolate brownie with ice cream, Eton mess, and crème brûlée,” says Faye.
Love and laughter
The couple also ensured their guests were entertained throughout the day with a close-up magician and an evening band. “The band even sang Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I Love You, live, for our first dance. It was a lovely touch and made it a little more personal to us,” explains Faye. “Rich actually chose this song early on in the planning process, which was lovely.”
Faye’s top tip:
• If your budget allows, book a videographer. The day really does fly by and there’s so much of it I can’t remember. We are just waiting for our video to come back and can’t wait!
