For Joe and Michelle, finding the right venue was key. They dreamed of a stunning ceremony space and picturesque grounds – and wanted to celebrate their special day in a beautiful barn venue.

The perfect barn venue

After finding Rivervale Barn online, Michelle and Joe were confident it was the right venue for their wedding. “The beautiful photos and detailed information about the venue definitely caught our attention,” explains Michelle. A visit to the barn venue only confirmed it was the right choice for their wedding. “It was everything we had hoped for,” smiles Michelle. “We fell in love with its beauty and magical atmosphere while the honeymoon cottage and bridal pamper room were added perks.”

Summer palette

To complement their summer wedding at Rivervale Barn, the couple opted for a pretty peach colour scheme with touches of gold. They styled the venue and tables with lanterns and flowers and added quiz scratch cards to tables for afternoon entertainment. Their wedding cake featured their chosen colour palette too. It was adorned with peach and gold icing and finished off with a gold Mr and Mrs Sebo cake topper.

Dressed to impress

In keeping with the style of the rest of their wedding day, the couple wowed their guests in elegant attire. Michelle stunned in a pretty sequinned gown while Joe looked sharp in a dark blue suit with personalised cuffs and socks. The bridesmaids dressed in the colour of the day – peach – in dresses that featured a pretty lace back.

A day to remember

Michelle began her day getting ready in the bridal pamper room with all five of her bridesmaids. Situated just a few steps away from the Ceremony Barn, there were no stresses about getting to the aisle on time to meet husband-to-be Joe. However, there was a bit of a panic when the wedding rings got lost (and found!) just before the ceremony. “The Ceremony Barn was captivating. I loved the high beams and breathtaking view of the gardens,” smiles Michelle. “The wedding team made things easy too – we were so lucky to have such an experienced and friendly wedding planner,” she adds.

Taste sensation

The drinks reception and wedding breakfast that followed was just as impressive. The couple opted for a Pimm’s and Prosecco reception and a three-course wedding breakfast featuring chocolate brownie and salted caramel ice cream to finish. “The food was impeccable and guests said it was the best food they had ever tasted,” smiles Michelle. “We also had a sensational barbeque in the evening – so guests never went hungry.”

Having a ball

Keen to ensure their guests had a great time, the couple prioritised good entertainment at the barn venue. They had a photo booth area with vintage props and a polaroid camera for memorable shots, as well as a live band that kept guests on the dance floor all night. “They were amazing,” smiles Michelle. “We couldn’t have asked for a better day.”

Michelle’s top tip:

• “Do think about your first dance before the big day. We wish we had practised a little more – we were certainly no ‘Jonny’ or ‘Baby’ from Dirty Dancing!”
